INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

IFP MN launches a quarterly series of workshops on important topics for professional filmmakers

Phantastic Promotion for Philm
Hosts: Matt Osterman & Jennifer Kramer
October 17, 2–4pm
Price: $10/$5 members/Free to IFP MN Fiscal Sponsorship Clients

Producer Kramer and writer/director Osterman have done a bang-up job of promoting their feature length supernatural film Phasma Ex Machina from its inception. Using social networks, YouTube, and other vehicles, Jennifer and Matt have had their film’s trailer go viral in a matter of hours. Phasma Ex Machina was invited to IFP NY’s Rough Cuts Lab in June and recently returned to NYC as one of ten films in the U.S. to be selected for the prestigious IFP Filmmakers Lab. Jennifer and Matt will discuss the many tactics and tools they implemented to call wide attention/attract funding to their movie.

Matt has written and directed numerous short films, produced a documentary executive produced by Jon Stewart, written a handful of feature scripts, and worked on countless independent films. His movies have played at festivals all over the country, and he has had projects broadcast on SpikeTV and featured in National Geographic Magazine. Phasma Ex Machina is his feature film directorial debut.

Jennifer has produced corporate videos, commercial spots and independent films.  Her work ranges from producing documentaries in the remote regions of Alaska for the National Park Service to independent narrative films aired on Bravo.
