IFP Minnesota welcomes a new addition to its thirteen-member Board of Directors. Kristin Schaack, independent filmmaker and Broadcast Producer at Target Corporation, joins the nonprofit arts organization’s leadership team on September 21st.
Schaack’s media experience spans a diverse spectrum, from writing, directing and producing short films, cable shows and commercials to managing the financial elements of both large- and small-scale television, radio and online productions. Prior to joining Target’s Media
Productions division in 2006, Schaack served in accounting and project management positions on shows for ABC, NBC, Warner Bros., Showtime, Lion’s Gate Entertainment, and 20th Century Fox. In addition to her current role at Target, Schaack works with Above-the-Line Entertainment in Minneapolis, an independent production company, with whom she recently received the 2012 Best Film, Best Directing and Audience Choice Awards at the Minneapolis 48 Hour Film Project for the film Coming Out.
“We’re honored to have a new board member who will add fresh ideas and creative guidance during this exciting period of growth for IFP,” said Christie Rothenberg Healey, president of the organization’s board of directors. “Kristin’s expertise will offer us new energy as we continue to serve and support artists working across all media platforms.”
“I am very excited about joining the IFP Board of Directors. In addition to my work with Target, I have a personal investment and passion for independent filmmaking,” said Schaack. “I look forward to engaging in the film and arts community in a new way. I believe my Target network and filmmaking will be a great contribution.”
