Calling all aspiring filmmakers who've always wanted to create a short film about the public library! We know you're out there! We invite you to participate in this year's Quiet on the Set metro public library short film competition. Visit www.melsa.org/quietontheset to watch some of last year's films, check out the event photos, and find out everything you need to know to get involved (submission guidelines, etc.).
This workshop will help you get started and is for filmmakers of all levels. It begins with how to come up with ideas for your short film and gives tips and resources for all key elements of your film: script, actors, camera, sound, lighting, locations, extras, props, costumes, shooting schedules, editing, music - everything you need to produce a short film that is 5 minutes or less. The instructor will also cover some of the more advanced elements of filmmaking such as HD vs. NTSC, single vs. multiple camera set-ups, dialogue and FX, use of microphones, lighting by separation, F-stops and the foot candle, and more.
